Plugin monitoring for GLPI arose from the need by Ecole Centrale de Lyon (in France) and by Siprossii. It was financed by these two entities.

Ecole Centrale use GLPI + FusionInventory and need to manage monotoring of servers easily, and if possible in a unique central interface: GLPI. Guillaume Capiod is the source of this collaboration.

siprossii use and contribute to GLPI (official partner GOLD) and on project FusionInventory by its developer David Durieux (GLPI contributor, co-leader of FusionInventory). Through relationships with Jean Gabès, monitoring engine used with this plugin is Shinken.

Goals of this plugin :

* Use devices inventory to define automatically services to monitore.
* View the state of resources in a device form
* A synthetic dashboard
* Delegation of monitoring possible by the use of GLPI entities.
* Monitoring may be supervised in « real time » via get last events or on a period via RRDs graphics models.
* Have generic templates for RRDTOOL in JSON format
